Eko Haber Technical Staff Issue in Industry - Interview with Mr. Hasan ALTINSU
Hasan Altınsu – ALTINSU TEKSTİL Chairman
Opportunities are there, but personnel are lacking
We experience a shortage of personnel in almost every field. We especially feel the lack of personnel in the yarn, twisting, and weaving areas of our business. To minimize this gap, we provide three-month training sessions in groups of 15 to 20 for new recruits, thereby adding personnel to our team. We actively use İŞKUR, social media, and recruitment websites. We do not find the steps taken in vocational training to solve the personnel shortage adequate. The Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry has a significant responsibility here. We believe that the issue of providing personnel to businesses should be addressed through industry-specific projects, where efforts are made to increase the sector's appeal and ensure job security. There needs to be more emphasis on vocational courses. Today, we have state-of-the-art technology, but not enough qualified personnel. To address this shortage, it is essential to give the necessary importance to this matter and bring it to a solution. This situation concerns not only BTSO but all its members. Our suggestion is as follows: A pilot company should be selected on an industry basis, and the personnel sent by BTSO should undergo a one-year training process within the company, with BTSO covering the expenses. In this way, the company will contribute new personnel to the sector.
